If I just had a thousand dollars lying around, I would get myself this Anna Sheffield ring as an early birthday present. It features a delicate row of champagne diamonds. I don’t know anything about diamonds, but those sure do sound fancy.

That is a beautiful ring but I have always wondered if having two fingers attached would be annoying. But I guess it is one of the things we would do for fashion and beauty.
That is an interesting ring–pretty– Probably hard to size it, too.
Champagne diamonds are a wonder of modern marketing. Many (many) years ago when I got engaged, it was all about the 4 C's of diamonds–one of which is Color. A good diamond was completely colorless, and they ranked them from D down to L (I had to look this up) for nearly colorless, then all the way down to Z for having yellow tones. I have no idea what they did with the yellow/tan X-Y-Z ones back then…but now, they're "champagne" diamonds and making all kinds of fashion statements. Miracle of marketing, I'd say. I think it goes to the fact that a much broader group of people are deciding what is "pretty" these days–instead of only those GIA officials.
This ring is kind of like brass knuckles for the wealthy.

Life of Joy, I have the same thought about the stuck together fingers, but when I think about it, I don't think I spread my fingers apart too often during the day.

It's not so much that the diamond industry is trying to put one over on us with colored diamonds, but by using diamonds that were once less desireable makes them more affordable to a wider range of people. These darker
Colors
also give designers greater freedom to create a specific look. As long as the the other three C's are of the quality you expect,
Cut
Clarity
Carat,
those champagne, chocolate, and black diamonds still have that adamantine quality that no other gem has.
Please consider adding a 5th C to your assessment of diamonds:
Country-of-origin.
