Would you have a small wedding or a big one?

General

When I was young, I always pictured my wedding to be huge, but the older I get, the more the idea of a small wedding appeals to me. A friend of mine had less than 40 guests at her wedding, and the ceremony and reception felt like such a special intimate celebration. On the one hand, big weddings mean…

You could have a great big dinner party with never-ending conversation (eating family-style would be so much fun!)…
You wouldn’t have to worry about cutting down the guest list…
And you could party all night long in one of these crazy tents!
But on the other hand, if you had a small wedding…
You could choose to invite only the people that really mattered to you…
You could enjoy a more relaxed, low-key vibe…
You could have an adventurous destination wedding…
And you could host a cozy 30-person reception in your backyard and not have to worry about if there will be any cake left for you…

Or, if you really don’t want to decide…
You could elope! (My family would kill me).
Do you want to have a big wedding or a small one? (Or which one did you have? And was it fabulous?)
