I have not seen The Wire, but I know what you mean about TV and emotions. My big ones this year (now that ER has ended) are a SURPRISE to me, The Good Wife--I never even intended to watch it but I've seen all 3 episodes; it's VERY good, especially if you like strong, smart women who make their own way, and In Plain Sight...started this past summer, for the same reasons. Both make you sit and think--how would I handle anything like that?

The tea surge used to happen (and still does) after the Christmas special of say...Eastenders or Only Fools and Horses, and way back when the Royals were still popular when the Queen would finish her Christmas day address to the people. At about 3.10pm Xmas day the kettle surge was insane!

Someone once told me that Britain has a person employed to watch the electricity peaks because there is one show there that is so popular, that right after the show ends, everyone goes to the kitchen to make tea and there is this huge energy spike. That must be one dang good show... do you know what I'm talking about? I wonder what show it is and what it's about.

British TV is rubbish! Thank goodness for re-runs across countries. So I'm finally getting to see Gilmore Girls (how old is that show for you?), and I actually know who you're referring to when you say Heidi and Spencer.. have never watched Felicity or The Wire. Never heard of the first but I'll try the second. Oh, and Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman is on tv here too - how ancient are we?!!

I feel the same way about LOST. I call in sick for 2 days 1 time a year to catch up on it. I don't leave the house and have taken to precooking my food. I don't even pause for bathroom breaks. Sadly, I just turn up the volume and leave the door open. LOVED Felicity too!
