This Halloween I wanted to be something relevant, something on the top of everyone’s minds these days. I struggled coming up with a national health care costume, so instead I was Twitter!
Keeping my tweets to a minimum.
Tonight we went to our first ever Silicon Valley Tweetup, a networking/karaoke/costume party event at Rosie McCann’s in Santana Row.
They had a costume contest… and I won first place! 😀 I got a S5 Real Pocket PC.
Here are the lower halves of our costumes.
Nathalie was Ugly Betty — her poncho was too cute!
Superheros, Ugly Betty, House, Twitter, and Lucy — Happy Halloween!
Wow, that Twitter costume came out amazingly well.
Also, I see Denise dressed up as "a grad student."
you look freaky fabulous!!
great costume! I can see why you won!congrats!
Cuteness. I applaud your creativity. In a world of pre-fabricated costumes, it's nice to know that someone is still making their own. 🙂
wow that is a great costume!!
Love the costume! I'm just not that crafty – I got a Professor McGonegall hat & called it a costume.
Great costumes!
Incredibly creative! And yay; you get a bonus for that. Congrats on the win.
I love your costume, B!!
Great ideas and they turned out wonderfully! Now I wish I were going somewhere so I could copy yours!!
Fantastic! Great costume idea!
Your costumes are the best!! Great job, you crafty lady.
haha, your twitter costume is great! I also enjoy nathalie's ugly betty =)
Love the sign!! And what a sweet prize! Now you can tweet on a tiny pc!
Thanks everyone!!! I hope you are all having a Happy Halloween this year. If you're dressing up, link me your costume pics in the comments!
AW, haha, she sure did. Or maybe we could think of it as that she is always dressing as Lucy Liu…
Erin, it's not too late! You still have 2 more days to find somewhere to go!
So creative!!!
Hilarious! So clever too – you deserved first place for sure. I like Alan's expression in the sixth picture – but that was before I knew he was Dr House..
How did you manage to keep the yellow beak on all night?
I have never celebrated Halloween in my life, not an Indian thing, or an English thing really. Looks like fun though..
fantastic! so clever! nice work on the costume!
Best Halloween costume ever!
Great idea!!!
I loooove your costume! Pretty amazing prize too, eh? It has to be said though, Alan's costume is good too.
Sounds like a fun party :.)
I tend to glance at the pictures before I read blogs – mainly because I read a lot of these on my Blackberry and so I have to start at the bottom and work up. I'm telling you this so that I can share my exact reaction from when I first saw a picture of you in your costume before I had yet to read any explanation: "~gasp!~ ~squeal!~ She's Twitter!!! I want to be Twitter!!!"
…And thus you brought out my inner 9-year-old. Well done, Sobrina. 😉
Aww, thanks so much!!! Inner 9 year olds rule 🙂 Mine today told me to quietly eat all my Halloween candy at my desk but I wasn't quiet enough and had to share. hahah
hey! look at YooNa in that box!!! -YooNa is a Korean singer XD- I loved that costume it's so cretive!!!
you always take what could be a regular costume (hang that sign around your neck) and take it to the next level (dress up as a bird).
i thought about being a national health care issue too! actually, i wanted to dress up as poverty or famine but decided it was too depressing.
