A Re-Launch Party

General

Last week, I “re-launched” Quiet Like Horses with a new layout and a new focus on everyday delights to eat, see and wear. To celebrate, I threw a little party and fed everyone cake. I had so much fun planning out the details and seeing it all come together. Here are a few pictures from the party!

I liked the idea of using non-conventional cups and so fresh squeezed lemonade was served in a variety of glass jars. I also wanted pretty table decorations that could double as edible goodies so I placed blueberries in “bowls” crafted from lemon rinds. I think the blue and yellow color combo turned out really well.

The cake was from Icing on the Cake in Los Gatos. It was banana flavored with cream cheese frosting, and it was sooo good. It was perfectly moist and banana flavored without losing its light cake texture.

I borrowed the vintage striped tablecloth from Alan’s mom.

I just recently learned (when ordering the cake last week) that the pale yellow border I asked for is called a pearl border. Thankfully, the nice lady taking my order understood what I meant when I asked to have “small beads drawn around the edge of the cake.”

The flower pin favors were from EmersonMade. They even did custom printing on the ribbons!

The pins look great on anyone. On girls…

and on boys!

People look so happy after eating cake and wearing Quiet Like Horses flower pins. We really should do this every week.

Thanks for letting me share, and a special thanks to all my friends and family for helping and making it so much fun! Now I need a new party to plan… 🙂
