One of my favorite things about Christmas are the advent calendars. This year I made a really simple one from paper treat bags I found at Michaels. I used stencils to outline numbers on each bag from 1 to 25. Then I carefully painted glue over the outlined numbers and sprinkled glitter on top. I strung them all up on the mantel using a bit of twine and clipped them on with mini clothespins.
Alan and I are taking turns filling each bag with a surprise for the other person. I’m taking the odd days and Alan’s taking the evens. On the first day, I hid some of his favorite cookies inside. On the second day, I got a handwritten poem and…software! Sweet and practical at the same time 🙂
What a neat idea for an advent calendar! I'm going to have to try that next season… 🙂
Such a cute and sweet idea! I love how y'all are putting little presents that are more thoughtful than expensive. Those are always my favorite! ^_^
