Weekend Plans: Bar Tartine

It's supposed to be amazingly warm in San Francisco this weekend (I just checked my iPhone weather app—it's going to be 79 degrees! Crazy!) which is perfect since I'll be up there visiting my friend Jennifer. We're going to have brunch at Bar Tartine which is owned by the same people who own Tartine bakery—the place I take all my loved ones to when they come to visit. Everyone from Bon Appetit to Elle to GQ loves them some Tartine. The food is Nordic/Hungarian and it seems like the things to get are the housemade blood sausage, the fried potato bread with dill and sour cream, and the smorrebrod, a Danish open-faced sandwich served on a dense sourdough sprouted rye. Now all I have to do between now and then is decide on what to get...or order one of each and convince Jennifer to share everything with me, ha!
