This week, I was in a documentary-watching mood, and finally watched Jiro Dreams of Sushi. It’s about an 85-year-old sushi chef named Jiro who owns a Michelin-rated sushi restaurant. It has only 10 seats and is in a Tokyo subway station! What makes his story so compelling is how completely dedicated he is to his craft and to achieving perfection. Here’s one of my favorite quotes from the movie:

“Once you decide on your occupation, you must immerse yourself in your work. You have to fall in love with your work. Never complain about your job. You must dedicate your life to mastering your skill. That’s the secret of success and is the key to being regarded honorably.” —Jiro Ono
