My dear friend Sue got married over the weekend at the Christmas House Inn, a charming former bed and breakfast in Rancho Cucamonga. The day was filled with so many pretty details—I’d love to share a few of my favorites!
First off, the bridesmaids dresses! Each bridesmaid wore a different style dress in the same coral color which turned out so pretty. We got so many compliments from guests. They were from J.Crew, and I’d highly recommend them. I can’t wait to wear mine again.
The bride: Sue and I met freshmen year at UCLA. We lived on the same dorm floor, and I was both intrigued and intimidated by her glossy Pantene Pro-V hair and quiet confidence. We both listened to emo music (ha!), shared a distaste for math and liked to eat good food. Of course, we became close friends. Isn’t she beautiful?
Unique accessory: For the ceremony, she wore a tiny, delicate pair of white gloves.
Manicure: I was obsessed with Sue’s nails which were painted a light pink and accented with gold dots and glitter.
Flowers: Sue’s bouquet was filled with peonies and garden roses. The soft colors matched the event perfectly. The bridesmaids held simpler versions of her bouquet. We were all tickled by the streaming ribbon. Note to self: Ribbon makes everything better.
Reception dress: Sue’s sister made this lace dress for Sue to dance in. She made it. How wild.
Table settings: The table decor felt so crisp and clean, draped in white with pops of gold.
Escort cards: Our friend Roy made cute buttons that attached to each escort card.
Dancing: For their first dance, Sue and David prepared by taking lessons. (Did any of you?) It was so cute.
Cake: My baker friend Shannon says frosting textures are really big right now in wedding cake design (vs. smooth fondant). I’m a big fan.
