Anyhow, in honor of those sixth grade presentations, tonight I made homemade tortillas. Most of the recipes I found online seemed overly complex. From what I remember, Danny’s recipe was simple. So simple that a sixth grader could follow it. I finally decided on this one. It doesn’t use lard, which I liked. Not because I have anything against lard, but I don’t have lard readily available in my pantry, and I’m all about cooking with things I have on hand. Now, I know some might be jumping to conclusions and forming judgments about these lard-free tortillas, but I must tell you that they were just excellent.

Think I've just found the solution to tonight's dinner!
I've got ALL those ingredients in my pantry! Which means this is on the list of things to try. Thanks for sharing. In my busy, hectic life I crave simplicity when it comes to cooking.
These look delicious! We had to do demonstration presentations in seventh grade. I made smoothies. They were a big hit. 🙂
i can't believe you MADE tortillas! you are so awesome!
These look great! It's difficult to find good tortillas here, and if you want anything close to fresh, good luck! So I asked my grandma how to make them. (She's bonafide New Mexican and knows these things.) When she told me that one of the ingredients was lard, it put me off the idea a bit, but now that I know there's a lardless way, I have to try it!
